He’s Just Not That Into You Stars Pay Tribute to Fire

US stars Ginnifer Goodwin and Justin Long paid tribute to Australia’s fire victims as they walked the red carpet at a rainy Sydney premiere of Hollywood film He’s Just Not That Into You.Goodwin and Long were joined by Australian celebrities at the St George OpenAir Cinema at Mrs Macquarie’s Point in the Botanic Gardens on Monday.Wearing jeans, black shirt and sneakers, Long said he was delighted to be in Australia but sorry to be promoting the film amid the sadness of the Victorian bushfire tragedy.”We just came from Melbourne. It was so nice and friendly and a pleasure,” he said.”It’s strange promoting a movie with such tragedy happening as we speak.”So it’s been a bit coloured by that, and our hearts just go out to everybody affected.”I’m sorry it has to be at a time like this.”The pair happily posed for photographs despite the rain.Goodwin, stunning in a yellow knee-length dress, said she was delighted with the film’s success so far in the US, where it premiered at number one at the box office.”We’re doing naked cartwheels in the street,” she said.Among Australian celebrities were singer Leo Sayer, Australian Idol winner Wes Carr, actor Callan Mulvey and designer Wayne Cooper.He’s Just Not That Into You, based on the book of the same name, centres around a group of 20- and 30-somethings trying to read the signs of the opposite sex.The movie was adapted from the book penned by Sex and The City scribes Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo.The all-star cast includes Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Bradley Cooper, Scarlett Johansson and Drew Barrymore.On its opening weekend in the US, it raked in an estimated $27.47 million at the box office, making it the number one film.The movie opens in Australia on February 12.
