Ginnifer on the cover of Health Magazine

Ginnifer is on the cover of the new Health Magazine, and the interview is up online.

As I sit down across from Ginnifer Goodwin in a Hollywood cafe, it hits me that she could easily pass for a French ingenue. In fact, with her simply chic T-shirt and cardigan, and her pixie haircut that oozes Paris, I wouldn’t have been surprised to hear a “bonjour” come out of her mouth. But then the Memphis-born actress, 32, offers a lilting “Hey there,” and her subtle Southern accent makes you want to kick back and hang out down home.

Now, as her HBO show Big Love goes into its fifth and final season (she plays Margene, the third polygamous wife) and before her iPhone rings (to the tune of “All You Need Is Love”), Ginnifer shares her trick for staying in great shape, her lifelong love of dance, and the feel-amazing secret she learned from her mom.

Ginnifer Goodwin in W Magazine

Ginnifer Goodwin

Ginnifer Goodwin appears to be pulling a Rihanna by attempting to break out of her good girl image to be a bad girl for fashion photographer Steven Klein in the latest issue of W. As polygamist wife Margene on HBO’s “Big Love,” it’s rare to see the 31-year-old “Southern belle” in anything less than the latest plural marriage fashions, but here she oozes sex in black leather and an Amy Winehouse wig while running around with a few greased up dudes showing of their 12-pack abs. In the accompanying interview, Goodwin talks about her newfound veganism, her breakup last year with actor Chris Klein, and her proper Tennessee upbringing that fostered a “prim” relationship to sex (she says she’s got “iron panties”). Plus, she reveals what she thought of the provocative images that accompany the profile: “I’m positive people don’t see me this way. They think I am Margene or Gigi. I was delighted that what I saw was so against what people would call ‘my type.’” Up next? A role in designer Tom Ford’s much-anticipated directorial debut and a turn in the movie adaptation of Beverly Cleary’s Beezus and Ramona.
