Ginnifer Design Shoes for Charity (@ginnygoodwin)
SUCH a cute shoe – its available for sale HERE
Milk and Honey shoes was founded by two sisters, Ilissa and Dorian Howard (a former Paramount executive), and we can’t think of a better idea: A site where you can create your own shoes, with your choice of heel height, shape, color and embellishment. Aren’t we always complaining that the shoes never come in the right color, size or heel height?
Now Ginnifer Goodwin is designing her own pair, and all kinds of actresses are getting into the act.
The “Ginnifer” shoe is part of Milk and Honey’s new charity initiative, and ten percent of its proceeds will go to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. It’s part of their new “Generous Soles” program — a celebrity-driven program where 100 percent of the profits from each pair sold goes to the charity of the celebrity designer’s choice. The first “Generous Soles” design, along with Goodwin’s, came from Kate Mara. Currently, Milk and Honey is featuring the next Carrie Bradshaw, actress AnnaSophia Robb. Up next will be Malin Ackerman, Amber Valletta, Whitney Cummings and Mindy Kaling, who will all partner with various charities throughout the year.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be launching this program and can think of no better combination than Ginnifer and St. Jude’s,” says Ilissa. Dorian adds, “Ginnifer represents exactly the elegance and grace we, as a company, strive to emulate. Her style is unique, playful and effortless; her spirit is as big as her heart.”
Says Ginnifer, “Growing up in Memphis, I have always admired St. Jude’s for the magnificent work they do. Knowing that I would be contributing even in this small way made designing this shoe really special. My stylist, Penny Lovell, and I came up with the idea to do a classic beautiful shoe in a fun standout color and I love this shade of orange.”Goodwin designed a closed toe pump in tangerine leather with a 5” heel and .5” inside platform.
